About Barbie

Using Person-Centered, Acceptance and Commitment, attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral, Strength-Based, and trauma-focused therapies to help women examine what is no longer purposefully serving their lives, at all stages of life.

My approach will help you separate who you are from the issues you are dealing with, so you no longer feel like they define you or have power over you.

Fellow Travelers

It is not beyond me that my experiences mirror the challenges my clients face. I've walked paths shadowed by trauma and grief, having weathered the profound loss of my parents and ventured through the intricate terrain of adoption. Life has led me through diverse landscapes, including divorce, single motherhood, and pursuing a new career.

Amidst these transitions, I've encountered doubt and isolation. The uncertainty had me questioning my resilience and struggling with self-limiting beliefs. It was hard to recognize when help was needed and muster the courage to seek it.

I also know that reaching out signifies an opportunity for change and the promise of hope.

In my sacred role as a guide, I traverse these narratives with you. Our stories may differ, yet our emotions resonate across the human experience. I am here to witness your journey and lend my wisdom as both a fellow traveler and a trained professional. I will hold space for your vulnerabilities and aspirations alike.

Life's imperfections shape us, and change is our constant companion. I approach this journey with empathy. Let's do this together, embracing the hope that change brings.

I Work With Women Who Are…

Moms

Navigating motherhood is tough. At times it can feel isolating and lonely and can bring out intense feelings of self-doubt. Counseling can help you manage anxiety and stress, find balance, reduce guilt, and build a strong foundation for you and your family's well-being and personal growth.

Experiencing Major Life Transitions

Major life transitions can come in many forms, such as becoming an empty nester, going back to school, or relocating. One of the most difficult to navigate life transitions happens when we lose a relationship that has been central in our life. While these times of change can feel daunting and emotionally overwhelming, therapy can help you navigate the transition to your next stage of life with confidence and renewed positivity.

Grieving Loss

Grief is not a linear process. It has its own timetable and may not always make sense to us. Grieving is a normal response to loss, but it can feel as if it will never end. Therapy can offer a space to process the loss. With empathy and compassion, I’ll help you see your way to the other side and find hope again.

Navigating Trauma

While there is no doubt that healing from trauma is possible, it is a deeply personal and unique journey. By honoring what the healing process looks like for you, I can assist in processing emotions, building resilience, and creating a safe space to foster gradual recovery and renewed hope.
